This is an important group because they used in treating psychosis as well as used as mood stabilisers.

They have been developed since the first generation antipsychotics and act in a way that is different to the older antipsychotics.

They include:

Risperidone (Risperdal)
Olanzapine (Zyprexa)
Quetiapine (Seroquel)
Ziprasidone (Zeldox)
Aripiprazole (Abilify)
Clozapine (Clopine, Clozaril)
